Sport Mode One
Sport as social capital
We create opportunities for student-athletes to learn from coaches about what it takes to increase their athletic and social skills. By expanding how students see themselves and each other, they realize the future is theirs to create. The principles they learn within the game and the people they meet all translate to how they can bridge the gap between communities in Charlotte.

according to parents & players
We have collected over 400 surveys from Spring ‘22- Summer ‘24 via Survey Monkey. The resulting score is easy to calculate. It’s the sum of all positive responses divided by the total responses collected, then multiplied by 100. The outcome gives the overall percentage.
We want all parents to feel seen and heard. Creating surveys and making ourselves available to receive feedback is always our priority.
Everything we do is geared toward the boys and girls participating in our programs. Understanding how they feel helps us coach and lead them well. We pride ourselves on allowing all our players, regardless of age, a voice to share how they feel. We aim to build respectful and thoughtful ways for players to express themselves so we can lead them well.
Parent-Program communication is one of the pillars of a child’s youth sports success and overall experience. Effective communication with parents is critical to establishing a parent-program partnership as it ensures cooperation, builds mutual trust and helps coaches learn more about the children in their care. We aim to give parents ample time to plan and keep open communication lines so they always feel heard and seen.
We aim to motivate and inspire athletes to improve their skills and teamwork and, by doing so, develop grit and the ability to make their school teams. Our coaching includes effective communication, understanding the proper use of rewards, and accountability to help our players reach their goals.
Everything rises and falls on leadership. All our leaders are always available and open to listening, learning, and acting on all feedback, good or bad. We fail fast in taking those failures to improve every area of our youth sports experience.
Everyone who participates as a parent, player, coach, or support member builds culture. A strong team culture helps build team cohesion and chemistry, which can translate into success. Players who share common values and goals are more likely to work well together and support each other, leading to better teamwork and performance.
Engaging in community service not only helps those in need but also fosters a sense of fulfillment and connection within the community. The non-profit partners we work with help us stay grounded.
